We are proud to deliver a range of community-based training programs each year, funded through the Queensland Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.
To date, over 800 training places have been created, resulting in 414 employment outcomes and the awarding of 767 industry certificates to disadvantaged job seekers across the Southside of Brisbane and in nearby local government areas. In 2017, the work of our team was acknowledged with a Queensland Training Award (Metropolitan Region) in the Community Training Initiative category.
Communify training team delivers community-based programs tailored to the individual needs, aspirations and life-circumstances of participating people.
Our training participants often overcome barriers to employment, including long-term employment and associated issues; recent migration status and associated challenges; young and mature-aged learner; and welfare-related issues (e.g. homelessness).
We offer ongoing individual case management, advocacy and referral when needed. Our training projects engage with numerous industry partners who provide many expertise and networks to prepare our participants for employment success.
We are committed to supporting reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australian people. In keeping with the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands where Communify works, the Turrbal and Jagera peoples. We wish to pay respect to the Elders – past and present – and acknowledge the important role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples continue to play within our community.
