Program details

  • Paid national training wage 38 hours, 5 days per week for 18 weeks
  • Gain hands on ‘greening’ experience working on restoration & rehabilitation around public sites & waterways in the Scenic Rim Region
  • Study native plants, eco-system & conservation techniques
  • Develop skills in the safe use of hand tools, petrol driven equipment and herbicides
  • White Card, Senior First Aid Training, RFAST – Resilience First Aid Starter Training, *ACDC (Chemical Spraying Cert)
  • Team Building, Job Readiness Training (Resumes, Cover Letters, Mock interviews) & employability skill development
  • All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided

 

*No cost to eligible participants

Eligibility

To apply applicants must be:

  • 16 years or older
  • No longer attending school
  • Not currently enrolled in accredited training
  • Be a permanent Queensland resident or on a pathway to residency
  • Must not have previously participated in a Skilling Queenslanders for Work Programme
