Changes to our Emergency Relief program
Brisbane Inner City/West
From Monday 16th February 2026, Communify’s Emergency Relief phone line will be permanently closing. We have made the decision to provide only in-person options for accessing ER moving forward.
North West Community Hub are offering drop-in support on Mondays from 9-11am, or at Open House on Thursdays from 10am-1pm.
You are also welcome to attend in-person appointments at North West Community Hub between 9.30am-12pm on Wednesdays. However, you will need to pre-book your appointment – please call 3510 2700 weekly from Monday to book your appointment. Spaces are limited and bookings will only be made weekly from Monday.
We thank you for your understanding and patience as we make this important transition.
Brisbane South
From 1 April 2026 there will be changes to the suburbs we support for:
- Emergency Relief Vouchers (shopping vouchers and fuel)
- Food Co-op Access
These changes are being made to ensure we can continue to provide fair and sustainable support to our local community.
If you currently access these services through Acacia Ridge Community Centre, please check with staff to confirm if your suburb is still within our area. You can call the centre on 3277 4893.
Financial relief in times of hardship
We can provide assistance in the form of:
- Food vouchers
- Petrol vouchers
- Funds for paying part of bills and invoices
You can apply for emergency relief support over the phone, or in person at select neighbourhood centres.
Brisbane West and inner-city Brisbane suburbs
Am I eligible?
You need to provide proof of address or housing service in the eligible suburbs. You can look up your suburb using our tool.
Drop-in support
- Mondays 9am – 11am or Thursdays 10am – 1pm
- Tuesdays and Thursdays 9am – 1pm
Book your ER appointment
People living in Inner City and West of Brisbane needing information, referral support and Emergency Relief are welcome to attend in person appointments between 9:30am–12pm on Wednesdays at North West Community Hub. You will need to pre-book your appointment by calling 3510 2700 weekly on Mondays.
Spaces are limited and when they are booked out, you will be redirected to other in-person options.
If you are booked in, you will receive a text confirmation on the Tuesday before your appointment.
Brisbane South
Emergency relief is by appointment at our Acacia Ridge Community Centre.
