Since 1986, the New Farm Neighbourhood Centre has provided connection and support to the local community. Our centre offers numerous community programs, events and activities every weekday as well as brief intervention services to assist with health, social inclusion and information and referral.
Bus 196 stops right outside the New Farm Neighbourhood Centre at 967 Brunswick St.
Bus 199 passes by the Brunswick St & Merthyr Rd intersection (a few blocks away), and Bus 195 runs during peak time only.
There is some street parking nearby, although there is no onsite parking.
We partner with many services to connect community members with the essential supports they need. Our centre also has various facilities available for public use including laundry, showers and public computers with printing.
You are welcome to drop in and use the facilities, attend our activities or spend time at our Open House sessions which run from 9am-1pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Please note that we are unable to use our emergency relief funding to pay rent, bond or accommodation fees. We also do not offer specialised housing and homelessness support or specialised domestic and family violence support. However, we can refer you to services that can assist you.

You can contact our team on 3358 5600 or email nfnc@communify.org.au between 9am – 4pm Monday – Friday with any enquiries. During our operating hours anyone is welcome to attend or contact NFNC for support. If we can’t assist directly, we will provide information and referral for somewhere that can. We aim to return all email enquiries and voicemails within 48 hours.
During our Open House sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am – 1pm, you are welcome to drop into our centre and chat to our staff about your needs

Our volunteers provide essential support to our centre across various areas. They are an invaluable part of the Communify family. The centre holds insurance covering people signed on as volunteers.
New Farm Neighbourhood Centre volunteers assist with reception and computer support, gardening, shopping, event planning, kitchen duties, making coffee in our community cafe and much more. If you’d like to support our work through monetary donations, you can make these in person at the Centre or via our online donation link.
The Patrons of New Farm are a local group of socially conscious people and businesses who are committed to supporting vulnerable people within our community. The Patrons provide generous financial support to New Farm Neighbourhood Centre which we use on a case-by-case basis to assist community members in urgent need.

The Community Cafe is a socially inclusive coffee hub at which people from our wonderfully diverse community can come together over a delicious cup of Merlo coffee.
Run by our amazing volunteers, the Community Cafe provides a relaxed and pleasant environment in which you can stop by for a coffee break while enjoying the gorgeous view of New Farm Park.
When you buy a coffee, you have the option to spend a little extra to pay it forward for our community members who can’t afford to buy their own.
New Farm Community Hall and New Farm Grand Room can be hired for group activities, workshops and events when the venue is not already in use for New Farm Neighbourhood Centre programs. To discuss whether your activity will suit this space, please email communityspaces@communify.org.au.
