Support our work through SmartMeals

We’re happy to announce a new opportunity for you to support our work.

SmartMeals: Feeding people. Saving jobs

Our funding partner StreetSmart has responded to the urgent food security challenge created by COVID-19 by establishing the SmartMeals program.

This is a localised solution to the food security challenge facing many in our community at this time, with the dual impact of feeding vulnerable people while helping to keep hospitality workers employed at partner cafes and restaurants.

The SmartMeals program has delivered thousands of meals around Australia and are currently supporting the delivery of 299 meals per day through nine charity partners. Many of the recipients are individuals and families that have recently been put into emergency accommodation with limited access to food, storage or cooking facilities.

Feedback from recipients shows that a localised partnership solution to food security is a valuable addition to the charity meals ecosystem. Here in Brisbane, financial support is provided to Sassafras of Paddington for their chefs to prepare meals, and Communify delivers the meals directly to people in need.

The support we’ve received so far demonstrates our community’s compassion but we financial support to continue the program. Make a donation today to help keep this program running in Brisbane.

“The meals are so good. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to be able to rely on them each day” – a program recipient.
