The Exchange

The Exchange is a vibrant and busy neighbourhood centre in the Kelvin Grove Urban Village. The centre offers a popular English language program, group classes, free meals and community events to support the cultural diversity of the local community and provide a welcoming space for people from all walks of life.

340, 345, 390, and 66 buses pass by Kelvin Grove QUT stops, or near the Urban Village. Find more information at Translink

There is some parking in the Kelvin Grove Urban Village, but it might be limited in peak times.

Our services

The Exchange provides a range of community activities including:

  • art and drama classes
  • cross-cultural playgroup
  • English conversation classes
  • children’s tutoring classes
  • free community lunches and dinners.

You are also welcome to drop in to the centre and use the facilities, including computers and internet, and phone calls to contact Centrelink, make appointments and apply for work. However, please understand that during some group sessions, the Exchange can be closed to drop-in visits.

We are always looking for more people, businesses and organisations to get involved in the community in whatever capacity they can:

Volunteer

Our volunteers provide essential support to our centre across various areas; they are an invaluable part of the Communify family. The centre holds insurance covering people signed on as volunteers. If you’d like to support our work through monetary donations, you can make these in person at the centre or via our online donation link.

Venue Hire
