Program details

Pathology specimen collectors, also known as phlebotomists, play a critical role in the pathology and laboratory team, operating across a spectrum of healthcare settings, including pathology collection centers, hospitals, medical practices, and occasionally even patient homes or aged care facilities.

  • 20 weeks, 2 days per week training plus 35 hours work experience in Pathology Collection

  • Training comes at no cost to eligible participants.

Eligibility

To apply applicants must be:

  • 18 years or older
  • No longer attending school
  • Not currently enrolled in accredited training
  • Be a permanent Queensland resident or on a pathway to residency
  • Must not have previously participated in a Skilling Queenslanders for Work Programme
  • Unemployed or underemployed – in need of support to find a job
