Transport
Transport
If you need help to get out and about because of your age, ill-health or a disability, Communify’s subsidised transport services are here for you to make transport easier and more affordable.
Who we help
To be eligible for this service, you must meet the following criteria:
- If you are 65 years or over, you must obtain the relevant referral code through MyAgedCare
- If you are under 65 years, you must hold a disability support pension or be able to present a letter from a medical professional stating that you require transport assistance.
You must also be located in the inner north-western suburbs of Brisbane.
How we help
We assist clients with the following subsidised transport options:
- Individual transport to medical or other health-related appointments.
- Scheduled bus trips for Communify events and group activities.
- Information on other community transport providers and options.
Fees
Our fees depend on the distance you travel and how you travel. Here is a listing of our fees (PDF download). Please contact us if you need help to understand the fee structure.
Our travel options include volunteer and staff drivers who provide group and individual transport options, subsidised taxi and Uber trips. Transport fees may vary depending on the distance travelled. Subsidised taxi trips can vary in cost.
Some suburbs in the serviced area can be limited in options for pick up and might be only available as a group bus or taxi/Uber.
Please note that we do not have vehicles that accommodate wheelchairs or clients with other assistance requirements, and our drivers are not trained support workers.
How to contact us
You can contact our team on 3510 2741 or email transport@communify.org.au between 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday with enquiries about our transport services.
Transport can be arranged to take place before or after office hours, however, the service is not available on public holidays or weekends.
