Welcome to our Communify Newsletter for August!

Homelessness Week is on from the 4th to the 10th of August. It is an annual week coordinated by Homelessness Australia to raise awareness of people experiencing homelessness, the issues they face and the action needed to achieve enduring solutions. This year’s #HW2019 theme is ‘Housing Ends Homelessness.’ 

Our next Politics in the Pub event is titled All the Lonely People and is on the 20th of August. We’ll be discussing loneliness in the digital age, loneliness for marginalised communities, city design and third spaces, and more.

Wear it Purple Day is on 30th August. Wear it Purple was founded in 2010 in response to global stories of real teenagers, real heartache and their very real responses. In 2010, several rainbow young people took their own lives following bullying and harassment resulting from the lack of acceptance of their sexuality or gender identity. So, join us on the 30th and support the movement by wearing the colour purple.
