Chatty Bench Community Festival .

In the continuing ethos of the project, the festival is about creating a sense of community, belonging and connection. The festival is kid-friendly, drug-free, alcohol-free and cigarette-free. The festival is open to everyone, regardless of people’s age, disability, gender, gender identity, race, religion or belief or sexual orientation.

The festival is a collaboration between Communify QLD and QUT Design Lab. It is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council, Kelvin Grove Community & Commerce Association, & Kelvin Grove Urban Village Principal Body Corporate. The festival mission is to create a safe, fun space through the use of the benches where people engage in storytelling and learn from each other to celebrate different points of view, welcoming diversity and creating connections. The festival is now looking for Chatty Benchers i.e. storytellers, performers, musicians, folks to hold workshops or simply showcase their talent.
