Hi everyone, as an introduction to my new Meditation class, Change your Life meditation, a little about myself:

“My name is Angus Mackay and I have been meditating since I was 15 years old, so a long time! and I studied Science at Uni and have worked in sales and marketing in the Healthcare industry for most of my career. Having worked in hospitals for many years and seen a lot of sick patients, I am a strong believer in preventative methods to keep yourself healthy and Meditation truly is one that we all need to embrace to rest our minds regularly. This gives us a better out look on life, more self love, better sleep patterns, reduces physical stress and assists our interactions with people in life to generally be more positive.

I was involved in participating in a community centre meditation group in Melbourne for seven years prior to moving to Brisbane. I most recently was teaching meditation at the Tenerife Community centre for more than two years, however, it has closed at nights now, so I am able to bring my experiences from some Buddhist teachings through a two year RIGPA course that I completed and other personal spiritual readings to this class.

The class is non denominational, however with a slight Buddhist slant, as I love that philosophy in life.

The one hour class will involve some warm up stretches to loosen the spine a little and settle us down from the day, then around a 15 minute sitting meditation, followed by some readings from various selected spiritual texts on positive ideas about life and happiness. We will finish up with some group chanting, which connects the group really well”.
