Helping those in need

People who live in the inner north and inner west of Brisbane who have a Health Care Card or a Pension Card can apply for The Pantry for free fresh fruit, vegetables and bread.

Please bring along your HealthCare or Pension Card when you visit.

You’re welcome to chat to us about other ways we can help you, too.

The Pantry is reliant on a minimal amount of funding and is supported by the work of a team of volunteers and the donations of many local people, churches and businesses including OzHarvest and SecondBite.

Who is eligible for this service?

Applicants need to:

  • be receiving a government pension or payment; and
  • live in the local area (please click here for suburb list)

This is a free and confidential service funded by the Commonwealth and State Governments.

Any financial donations or gifts of grocery items are always welcome.

How to apply

If you are interested in attending Pantry for the first time, you will need to send an email to . Please include your:

  • A photo of their Current Health Care, or Pension Card
