Going For a Song is an unauditioned community choir that meets on Monday nights in Red Hill to share the joy of creating harmonies and making friends.
No experience beyond a desire to sing is required. We love mixing up the repertoire we sing, so one night we may sing a gospel song, followed by a beautiful piece of Bach, or a contemporary Australian number.
We perform several times throughout the year, singing for our own health and pleasure whilst fundraising for others at our concerts. We celebrate Christmas by carolling at the Wesley Hospital on our last rehearsal evening, and have guest presenters for workshops through out the year. Our choir leader is Rosalind Perry, a Conservatorium trained singer and conductor of several choirs. She also sits on the committee of the Australian National Choral Association.
The New Farm Neighbourhood Centre has moved to 860 Brunswick St, New Farm while renovations are underway at our traditional home. Most of our events and activities will be moving with us, while some will be finding new homes. Get in touch with the contact listed for this activity to confirm its current location.
