Going For a Song is an unauditioned community choir that meets on Monday nights in Red Hill to share the joy of creating harmonies and making friends.
No experience beyond a desire to sing is required.
We love mixing up the repertoire we sing, so one night we may sing a gospel song, followed by a beautiful piece of Bach, or a contemporary Australian number.
We perform several times throughout the year, singing for our own health and pleasure whilst fundraising for others at our concerts. We celebrate Christmas by carolling at the Wesley Hospital on our last rehearsal evening, and have guest presenters for workshops through out the year.
Our choir leader is Rosalind Perry, a trained singer and conductor of several choirs. She is currently undertaking a Masters of Music Studies in Vocal Pedagogy at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Vocal Pedagogy, and sits on the committee of the Australian National Choral Association.
