Acacia Ridge Community Centre provides a safe and welcoming space for locals from surrounding areas to access the services they need such as grocery assistance from the Food Co-op, English and Citizenship classes, and emergency relief. The centre is firmly embedded in the local community to provide vital supports in these challenging economic times:

The centre hosts a range of community activities such as their free art classes every Thursday. This provides community members with a therapeutic outlet to express themselves and enjoy the company of other artists in a welcoming space. Last Thursday, Acacia Ridge hosted an art showcase to display and celebrate the amazing work of their art students. The show was open to the community, encouraging the wider public to come by and support local talent. The afternoon was a success with participants feeling super proud of their final artworks! A special thank you to our wonderful art teacher, Ana, who provided a great source of encouragement and guidance.

Here are some photos of the artists and their work:

If you or anyone you know needs support over the holidays, we have a list of emergency services including food relief that will be available over Christmas and the New Year.
